Prolonging life expectancy
The amount of calories enzymes and life expectancy What do those have to do with each other In the book Enzyme Nutrition Dr Edward Howell analyses the life expectancy of water fleas He wanted to know if heat makes enzymes work harder and wear out sooner In the experiment water fleas were placed into various temperature-regulated baths The outcome was at the coolest temperatures 46 degree F the water fleas lived 108 days and at the warmest temperature 82 degree F the animals lived about 26 days At the warmer temperatures the heart rate was almost 7 beats per second and at the cooler temperature the heart rate was less than 2 beats per second Metabolic enzymes were found to speed up in hotter temperatures vs cooler enzymes It was understood that only a certain amount of enzymes are available and after wearing out those enzymes life terminated What was learned from this experience was that there is just a limited amount of enzymes available and that at every kind of effort enzymes are used As well it was learned that higher temperatures speed up enzymes vs cooler temperatures In another test animals were feed fewer calories Animals lived longer who were feed fewer calories It was guided back to a simple explanation Fewer calories use less metabolic enzymes and therefore prolong life expectancy The message from the calorie restriction society wwwcalorierestritionorg states the same Fewer calories More Life It is an interesting site to visit Take a look So lets forget about looking good and feeling good for one second Who doesnt want to live longer and disease free for a long time Certainly I do and all of my clients who I have worked with are concerned about it as well at one point or another The message is clear Eat less feel better live longer A simple message that in any kind of weight loss program is emphasized It doesnt need a pill a drugs liposuction or what else I have seen out there Yet the quality of food plays an important factor as well Keep in mind that cooking destroys all food enzymes And if processed food is constantly consumed you are not providing yourself with enzymes that support your digestive and metabolic function In short you are creating a metabolic enzyme deficit Eat close as possible to the earth Cover your fair amount of raw fruits and vegetables daily that look like it is coming fresh from the field And if you cant be without cooked vegetables just cook half of it and eat the other half uncooked Or mix them together before consuming Happy Holiday Stefan Ps Tune in on CW11 at 7 50 am for the Beach Towel Workout with myself and Linda Church on September 1st 2008
